Whichever One Fits...

As many of you know, Jason and I have been praying for a baby for several years and we are so excited about where God is leading us! Adoption is not a second choice, or back-up plan for our family. We wholeheartedly believe that, as Christians, we are called to care for orphans.

James 1:27 says, "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for the orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." For us, this calling is adoption.

Jason and I have known for years that adoption would eventually be a part of our story. We discussed it off and on, prayed about it seriously, and learned (and are still learning!) to trust in God's perfect timing. Throughout the last year or so, one of us would be totally ready to begin the process, but the other wouldn't, and vice versa.

God began speaking to us both while on a trip with our youth group in December.  A member of one of the bands spoke about their adopted child and we began to truly see adoption for what it should be. While we had been looking at it from our perspective in relation to our wants and our timing, we began to see more clearly how God wanted us to see it. Adoption is part of God’s plan for our lives, in His time. After much prayer and seeking guidance from family and others who have adopted, we are confident that this is God’s perfect timing for this chapter of our lives.

Adoption paints a perfect picture of the Gospel! We are excited to have yet another beautiful and personal example of God's love to share with our child. We ask that you continue to pray for us throughout this journey, and most importantly, for the birth mother and our baby. Stay tuned for updates!

"God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son."
Ephesians 1:5-6
